Age of Adeline
on the 30th of June I had a cinema evening with mum. We went out and saw the Age of Adeline, which was a movie I had really been waiting for ever since it started to play as a commercial at youtube, and that was around the time when there was still snow on the ground wasn't it??
The movie tells us about the fictional life of Adeline Bowman, a beautiful young woman (played by Blake Lively) that becomes victim to an awful car crash at the age of 29, with quite a particular side effect.... from that very moment she stops aging! For us this can sound fantastic, convinient and to a certain extent romantic at first! That is until the viewr as much as Adeline finds out that this state brings her more misery than what it's worth...
We get to follow Adeline's life from the 1920's until our current time. Personally I thought we would get to see a lot more fashion from the decades than we got in the final cut, but most of Adeline's few flash backs are very very short in the movie. It was a fantastic movie nontheless! Like I said in the beginning I saw this movie with my mother and lovey dovey movies aren't her forte ass they can be very slow and unprogressive. Combined with my mother's tendency to fall asleep during movies when they get too ''boring'' romantic flicks aren't always the best pick for her! But she really like this movie exactly because it never got boring, things were always happening to keep her engaged in the plot. I would definitely be able to see this movie again, maybe not just yet, but it's a movie I'm sure I could enjoy now and again :) I highly recommend it for anyone that hasn't seen it yet, it's beautifully filmed and edited, and the buliding, interior design and enviroments are grand!
