French snacks [30th August 2015]
[This one and I'm done with post updating all the August posts from my blog! xD]
Naah not really? I don't even know if these are supposed to have come from France or whatever? In Swedish we call french toast ''Fattiga Riddare(poor knights)'' so I don't know my title just sounded slightly more witty in Swedish... sorry I suck at titles...
Anyhow the sweet tooth can be hard to fight and sometimes you just have to surrender to it...
Right now it's one of my favourite snacks, but to be completely honest I hadn't even tried them up until last year... I was browsing youtube on one of my biggest watching loves, cooking videos and somehow ended up on a Nigella Lawson playlist *bliss*! And well that was the fall of Nat to the French....
It's veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery quick, super good and filling. You just need some bread and as all foodies say it's a great chance to get rid of stale bread whip up an egg with some milk (0,5dl) and then add your desired taste, I but some icing sugar and vanilla extract to make them taste a bit more. You let the stale bread soak up the mixture then you fry them in a frying pan, at medium heat in some butter until you have them golden brown on both sides and there you have it! Top it with what you like, icing sugar, ice cream, berries, jam... then just dig in~
