Song of the Week: Sia Chandelier
Okay so I've almoooost missed the chance of being able to call this segment song of the week. In acouple of hours we're entering a new week! The lasy of 2014!
Erhm anyway~
Back to what this is about, MUSIC!
Last week I wrote about Kpop and I thought maybe venturing into western music could be fun in case some people don't fancy that.... Actually I hate separating music in to the categories of ''hey! here you have Kpop ( or any asian music) and westen music (all the other music from all other part of the world) ! :D'' like serioudly? that's such a gawky line to draw between them. Music is jsut music no matter where it comes from(but that's just my opinion).
Okay so I'm really slow on starting to actually listening to this song because it came out in the beginnig of May! And I literally just started to really listen to it in the start of December ( like what?). I have heard it before in shops, and tv and such, and always got hooked to it by the powerful vocals, but I never knew what song it was to find it later! I never had time to use Shazam or an other music app to find the song during the spontaneoust 10-15 seconds periods when I got to hear it.
anyway I finally founf it now in December and it has been one of my favourite songs this month.
Fine the text is not child friendly or positive or anything like that. I love how well Sia Portrays sorrow and helplessness in her high notes where it sounds like her voice will break in any moment(that sounds terrible but the emotion is captured so well!).
I mean it's a really tragic song about a person drowning their sorrows in alcohol, trying to put up a happy face in front of their loved ones(and starngers) but end up feeling even worse plus unbearable shame once the sun rises.Even if I've never been trough s situation like this it really pulls on my heart strings. It's not a happy go lucky song more like a bawl like a little baby, raw emotions coming through song!
